    PCAWA DEVELOPMENT SQUAD UPDATE
There seems to be a bit of confusion about the Development Squad among PCAWA members and the Squad members.

The Development Squad is for all members who turn 12 years as at the 1st January of the current year and has no closing date for nomination.

    Upcoming Development Squad Clinic Dates:
17th July at Gidgegannup HPC - Showjumping and Dressage
28th August at Gidgegannup HPC - all disciplines including PPMG
25th September at Riverside PC – Dressage, SJ and PPMG
Riders wanting to apply for National Selection to the 2011 PCA National Championship being held in September 2011 in Victoria do not have to be a member of the PCAWA Development Squad.

The PCAWA Development Squad members will be coached in the relevant discipline/s of Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing and Games. Lectures will cover Rider Fitness, Mental Skills, Motivation and Pre-Competition Skills, Feeding the Competition Horse, Training for Fitness, Care of the Horse during and after Competition.

All applications to the development squad will be considered and on-going assessments will be made during the development program. Riders at the required levels will need to provide sufficient proof of success. It is therefore important that documentary evidence of results in Dressage, Showjumping or Eventing events are kept and submitted when requested.

Riders will be expected to give a fair degree of commitment to the training programme, and attendance at Training Days will be strongly recommended. Riders who are unable to meet the required standards or commitments may not be retained in the Development Squad.

For nomination eligibility please refer to criteria on the nomination forms.

Riders will be responsible for all their own costs and expenses. It is strongly recommended that riders actively source individual sponsorship to assit with expenses.

If you like to nominate and you meet the selection criteria please complete the nomination form and forward to PCAWA office as soon as possible.
