ZONE TEAMS DRESSAGE COMPETITION
(Zone Teams of Four)

This trophy is awarded to Zone teams of four riders, as follows:
- 2 Riders 14 years & under & 2 Riders 15 years & over
OR
- 3 Riders 14 years & under & 1 Rider 15 years & over
OR
- 4 Riders 14 years & under
No team may consist of more than two senior riders (15 years & over).
A Qualifying Date is conducted by Zones when two tests will be ridden by each rider, at which the Team should be selected. In 2008, the Qualifying tests to be ridden are EFA Novice 2.1 (2004) and Novice 2:4 (2004 - corrected). Official EFA Dressage Judges must be used.
If a Zone cannot arrange a Qualifying Day, then they may apply in writing to the Dressage Sub Committee and consideration will be given to permitting a Zone to select a team without a qualifying event. In this case, all riders selected must have gained results of at least 50% at Novice level under an Official EFA Panel Judge.
Zones may enter a maximum of two teams, although the final number of entries will be at the discretion of the Organising Committee.
Rugs are presented to the riders in the winning team and a Perpetual Trophy is be awarded to the Zone. Team ribbons are presented to 6th place.
The Test to be ridden by all competitors for the Final of the Zone Teams Dressage Championship is advised annually by the Dressage Sub-Committee. In 2008 the test to be ridden in the Final is EFA Novice 2:3 (2004).
OAKOVER TERENA MUSICAL RIDE COMPETITION
(Club Teams of between 6 and 16 riders)

Pony Clubs are invited to enter riders in the Musical Ride competition, with a limit of one entry per Club.
The ride must consist of a minimum of six and a maximum of 16 riders and the ride is to be a minimum of 6 minutes and a maximum of 8 minutes duration, including set up time.
This competition is to be held in the indoor arena at the State Equestrian Centre, and the size of the arena will be 70 metres x 30 metres.
This competition is judged on the overall effect and theme of the ride as a whole, with consideration being given to the music, the choreography and teamwork.
Sashes are presented to each Club and the winning Club receives a Perpetual Trophy. All riders in the competition receive a participation ribbon.
The music tapes must be received by the PCAWA one week prior to the date of the competition so that the tapes can be checked to ensure they are suitable for use over the PA system at the SEC. Clubs should ensure that they have a spare copy of the tape. Musical tapes that are submitted after the due date will incur a late fee.
Pony Club uniform or Fancy Dress may be worn, however all participants, both mounted and unmounted, must wear an approved safety helmet and long or short riding boots. Unmounted competitors are to be discouraged when the ride is actually in progress.
Saddlery for this competition is under general Pony Club saddlery rules, not dressage rules.
PRIX CAPRILLI
Pairs of Riders - Ponies (Under 14.2h) - Horses (14.2h and Over)
The Prix Caprilli is a test which combines dressage with jumping cavalletti. This test is for pairs, with each rider undertaking the test individually, and the scores are added together.
Pairs must comprise ponies 14.2h & under, or horses over 14.2h. Depending upon the number of entries, there may be two rings. Ribbons will be presented to pairs of riders to 6th place.
Clubs may enter no more than two teams of ponies or horses.
PAS de DEUX
Pairs of Riders - Ponies (14.2h & Under) - Horses (Over 14.2h)
There are two classes, one for ponies 14.2h & Under and the other for horses over 14.2h. Ribbons are presented to the winning pairs, to 6th place.
The music tapes must be received by the PCAWA one week prior to the date of the competition so that the tapes can be checked to ensure they are suitable for use over the PA system at the SEC. Clubs should ensure that they have a spare copy of the tape. Musical tapes that are submitted after the due date will incur a late fee.
This must be ridden in Fancy Dress, although safety helmets and long or short riding boots are compulsory. Clubs may enter no more than two teams of ponies or horses.
Movements are equivalent to the PCAWA Prelim/Novice Freestyle Test. Riders showing movements from a higher standard will be ELIMINATED but will be able to complete the Test.
FREESTYLE
(Individuals)
The Freestyle competition will comprise classes as follows:
Preliminary/Novice

ELEMENTARY DRESSAGE TEST
(Individuals)
The Dressage Sub-Committee will advise annually details of the Elementary Dressage test selected. In 2008 this test will be EFA Elementary 3:1 Members and Elementary 3:2 (2004).
There is no limit to the number of individual entries which may be submitted by Clubs, however the total number accepted will depend upon the entries received and will be at the discretion of the Dressage Sub-Committee.
MEDIUM DRESSAGE TEST
(Individuals)
The Dressage Sub-Committee will advise annually details of the Elementary Dressage test selected. In 2008 this test will be EFA Medium 4:1 Members and Medium 4:2 (2004).
PLUNKETT TROPHY:
(Club Teams Of Four)
Clubs may enter teams of three or four riders, with the best three scores to count.
A team comprises one rider from each of the following age groups. Riders in each age group will ride different tests:
- 16 Years and Over - 2008 test to be ridden EFA Novice 2:4 (2004)
- 14 and 15 Years - 2008 test to be ridden EFA Novice 2:2 (2004 - corrected)
- 12 and 13 Years - 2008 test to be ridden EFA Preliminary 1:4 (2004)
- Under 12 Years - 2008 test to be ridden EFA Preliminary 1:2 (2004)
Each age group will ride a different Dressage Test in a different arena.
Riders MUST BE within the age groups specified - a younger rider MAY NOT ride in an older age group. No exceptions will be made. If a Club cannot field a rider in each age group, they may enter a team of three as only the best three scores are counted.
Ribbons are awarded to 6th place for teams and to 6th place for individual age groups.
Scoring for Plunkett Trophy:
Placings are allocated from 1st to last in each arena and points awarded with the first place rider receiving one more point than the number of teams entered. The points awarded to each rider from each arena are added together to give the team total.
For example, if 20 teams were entered, the rider placed first in Arena A would be awarded 21 points, the rider placed second 20 points, the rider placed third rider 19 points, etc. Where two riders receive an equal placing (eg 2nd, the points awarded to 2nd (20) and 3rd place (19) are added together (39) and divided by 2 to give a score for each rider of 19.5.
KANANDAH AND GINGAMURRAH TROPHIES
(Club Teams of Four)
No rider or horse may enter both the Kanandah and Gingamurrah Trophy competitions.
KANANDAH TROPHY
Club Team to consist of four riders aged 25 years and under as at the first day of competition.
GINGAMURRAH TROPHY
Club Team to consist of four riders under 14 years of age as at the first day of competition.
Judging
The Kanandah and Gingamurrah Trophies will be judged as follows:
Workout with a 'Turnout on the Move' component.
The workout is advised annually by the Dressage Sub-Committee and is to be memorised. No talking is permitted during the test. No Whips are permitted. Gear as per PCAWA Gear Checking Manual for Dressage with the exception of 'No Whips'
Clubs may select a second team in either event. The total number of entries which are accepted will be at the discretion of the Dressage Sub-Committee.
STUART HARKNESS MEMORIAL TROPHY
(Club Pairs - Horses over 14.2 Hands)
For riders 25 years and under. Horses and rider competing in this event may NOT compete in the Wanda Nelson Pairs Dressage Trophy. To be ridden in an ordinary snaffle.
To be ridden in an arena 20 metres x 60 metres. Spurs may be worn and whips (not longer than 75cms overall) are allowed. Nosebands as per PCAWA and EFA rules.
WANDA NELSON TROPHY
(Club Pairs - Ponies 14.2 and under)
For riders 25 and under. Ponies and riders competing in this event may NOT compete in the Stuart Harkness Memorial Trophy.
To be ridden in an arena 20 metres x 60 metres. Spurs may be worn and whips (not longer than 75cms overall) are allowed. Nosebands as per PCAWA and EFA rules.
