  Eventing

Eventing is a sport for the all-round horse and rider in which the combination completes three phases:

Dressage
Cross Country Riding and Jumping
Jumping

The PCAWA conducts the State Eventing Championships annually. Zones are invited to host the event for a two year period.

The Inter-Zone ODE is also held annually. Zones are invited to host the event on behalf of the PCAWA for a two year period. The Host Zone is responsible for the organisation and administration of the Inter-Zone ODE.

At the State Eventing Championships and the Inter-Zone ODE, Grade A Plus, Grade A and Grade B will be run in order of Dressage, Cross Country and Jumping. The order of cross country and jumping for Grade C is at the organiser's discretion.

The best three scores will be counted to make the team total.

Clubs/Zones are not permitted to replace a horse/rider in a Club/Zone team with a horse/rider from a composite team after the draw.

ELIGIBILITY FOR STATE EVENTING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Competitors are allowed to enter two horses for State Eventing Championships providing that they compete in different grades and that both horses are duly qualified to compete.

The horse and rider combination must have completed two (2) courses of an equivalent grade in the previous twelve (12) months and may include the previous State Eventing Championships.

If a horse and rider combination has completed more than one course of a higher standard in the previous twelve months they are not eligible to compete in the lower grade.

If a horse/rider combination incurs more than 120 penalties in the cross country OR more than 45 penalties in the jumping phase, this score will not be accepted as a qualifying round. This is a total of both jumping and time penalties for each phase.

Riders must be 13 years or over on the first day of January for Grade A.
