Healthy Club Sponsorships are NOW OPEN
Incorporated sporting clubs in a recognised sporting competition over the 2010 Winter season may apply to receive up to $2500 for initiatives to make their club safer and healthier and to train and educate volunteers.
Sponsorship funds can be used to purchase items including: first aid equipment, club safety equipment, sunscreen, Responsible Service of Alcohol training, healthy nutrition initiatives, training and coaching courses for volunteers and parents as well as other initiatives.
In return for sponsorship, successful clubs will be required to introduce smoke free outdoor areas and to introduce strategies to address other health issues.
Successful clubs will also need to develop and introduce a Healthy Club Policy addressing the issues of smoking, sun protection, alcohol and healthy food choices. The latest online 2009 Grants Directory allows access to grants offered by the State and Federal Government and private sector organizations. The directory provides a comprehensive list of grant funding available in Western Australia.

Healthway sport sponsorships are available to incorporated organisations wishing to conduct projects involving recognised sport or recreation initiatives where increased physical activity is the primary focus or sporting events that have a wide audience reach. All projects must clearly demonstrate opportunities to promote health messages and achieve healthy changes within sponsored organisations.
The identified project should be new or innovative and offer clear health promotion opportunities. Upon request from Healthway, any PCAWA Affiliated Clubs wishing to apply for Healthway Sponsorship must first submit their applications to PCAWA, so that all submissions may be collated, and submitted together. Healthway then advise PCAWA of the outcome of all submissions, as well as the allocation of funds (if any).
THE DEADLINE FOR ANY CLUBS WISHING TO SUBMIT APPLICATIONS TO HEALTHWAY FOR PROJECTS BEING HELD BETWEEN 1st APRIL 2010 AND 31st MARCH 2011 IS 5th OCTOBER 2009. PLEASE ENSURE YOUR APPLICATION IS RECEIVED AT THE OFFICE BY THIS DATE.
