What is an Endorsed Program?
An endorsed program is a significant learning program that has been developed by a school, community organisation or private provider, and endorsed by the Curriculum Council for students in Years 10, 11 and 12.
What is a Community Organisation Endorsed Program?
Community organisation programs recognise the significant learning opportunities provided by community-based organisations or other private providers, resulting in the achievement of a quality assured award or certificate. By successfully completing certificated or award programs offered by organisations such as PCAWA students can gain WACE unit equivalence.
What is "Unit Equivalence"?
Endorsed programs are given 'unit equivalence'. This effectively means that one or a combination of programs is considered equal to one unit of a WACE course. A maximum of ten unit equivalents can be counted towards the WACE. Achievement of endorsed programs must be reported to the Council in the year they are achieved or completed.
How do I Enrol?
PCAWA members studying PCA Efficiency Standards C, K, C*, B, H & A Certificates or Preliminary and Level 1 Coaching programs in year 10, 11 or 12 can request that their school enrol them in an endorsed program.
Please note – not all schools will have the resources to enrol students in these programs.
Members should contact PCAWA Membership Development Officer to be placed on the PCAWA ‘Pony Club in Schools’ database and receive information to give to schools when requesting enrolment.
