EFA RULES FOR SHOWJUMPING (with PCAWA modifications) See also PCAWA GEAR CHECKING MANUAL

The PCAWA awards a number of Showjumping Trophies annually. The Showjumping Sub-Committee will advise annually the format for the Championships and the Trophies to be contested. Entry fees for each individual Trophy competition will be set annually by the Showjumping Sub-Committee.

There are Showjumping events for Club Teams and for Zone Teams. Where the competition is for Zone Teams, Zones are required to conduct a Qualifying Day, where riders will compete as individuals with the results assisting in the selection of teams.

Depending upon the venue, the facilities and the format of the Championships Zones may enter more than one team in each event, however the total number of entries accepted will be at the discretion of the Showjumping Sub-Committee.

ZONE QUALIFICATION AND SELECTION

CHAMPIONSHIP ZONE EVENTS

For all Championship Zone Events:

ZONE SELECTION

This is a Table A competition run under FEI Rules for Jumping Competitions. Competitors will jump two rounds over the same course on the same day. The faults of both rounds will be added together and the competitor with the least number of faults will be the winner. In the event of an equality of faults over the two rounds, there will be a jump-off over a reduced number of obstacles which may be raised. If there is an equality of faults in the jump-off, time will be the deciding factor. Heights will be unchanged for the second round, but the jump-off may be raised by up to 10cm.

At the Championships ONLY, at the discretion of the Ground Jury, the second round may be raised.

CHAMPIONSHIPS

In each event riders have had to qualify for their zone team by taking part in a selection competition conducted by their respective zones, over a course of the required standard.

At the championships, each competitor will jump two rounds over the same course and all riders' number 1 in each team will jump, followed by all riders' number 2, followed by all riders' number 3. The combined score of the two riders with least numbers of penalties over the two rounds will be the team score. The team with the least number of faults will be the winner. A team of two may compete, in which case both scores count.

In the event of an equality of faults over the two rounds for any placing, there will be a timed jump-off over a reduced number of obstacles (which may be raised) by the top two scoring riders in each team. If all 3 riders have equal number of faults, the team manager must advise the judge which 2 riders will compete in the jump-off.

If a competitor is eliminated or retires in the first round he/she may compete in the following round (including the Jump-off). Such eliminated competitors shall be allotted the same number of faults as the competitor with the highest total of faults in that round, plus 20.
